Newsletter
New newsletter signups and email campaigns are paused during our free readership pilot. Existing subscribers can still unsubscribe or request deletion. For previous signups, we store your email address, consent text, subscription status and signup date. These records are used for the editorial updates you request. Email updates begin only after you confirm your subscription. You can request removal by email or use your personal unsubscribe link.
Accounts
Reader registration is paused during the pilot. Editorial sign-in is provided by ChatGPT. We receive an account identifier, email address and, where available, a display name. We do not receive or store your password. Editorial account permissions are stored separately.
Site operation
Hosting and sign-in providers process requests to deliver this site. We use short-lived request counters to limit signup abuse. We count aggregate pageviews and campaign sources, including Pinterest referral tags. Basic counters do not identify individual visitors. If you choose Allow measurement, we store a random browser identifier locally for up to 90 days and record a hash of it with visit dates. This estimates unique and returning browsers, not identifiable people. We do not store IP addresses in these analytics tables or link the identifier to your email or account. Identifiable browser-day records older than 90 days are removed as new visits are processed. You can withdraw through Measurement preferences; this stops future browser recognition and removes the local identifier. Previously recorded measurements expire under that retention period. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. Staff visits and traffic before the recorded public launch are excluded from new measurements. No advertising trackers are installed. Social links open external services with their own privacy practices.
